Au
Privave has
been playing as a combo for several years now, and, most of the members
played clubs and restaurants together for 7 or 8 years under the
informal name "Outerbridge Crossing." The quartet is comprised of seasoned
players, each bringing his own contribution to the wealth of music.
Combo
leader Vince Scuderi (rightmost above), brings decades of jazz work to his saxophone and
clarinet playing. He has a bachelors degree in music and has had a
love/work relationship for 15 years in music publishing.
Bassist
Rich Burnside has the richest musical background, going
back as far as work with the U. S. Army band and the Sil Austin band. Subtle, poetic and steadfast, Rich keeps
the music percolating in a dependable sophisticated way.
Drummer
John Lazarek
does some cool multitasking in both complementing and propelling the
piano and sax voices. He's a solid supply of time-perfect, sensitive
rhythm. He currently teaches music and is working on his MFA degree
in music.
Joining
Au Privave are a group of superlative pianists!
Together
they have played in harmony with a great variety of functions. From
silent auctions to opening celebrations, they know the right music
and the right tone to keep everyone happy.
So what's the name "Au Privave" about? It's a song by the famed, loved Charlie
Parker. [and, in real French,
it don't mean a thing] |
